Our specialised GPs have a variety of extra skills and qualifications to look after you.

Dr Jonathan Mortimer FRCGP, FACRRM, MBBS

Dr Jon is the principal GP at Coastal General Practice.

He is a Western Australian born-and-trained GP who completed his specialisation in early 2015. Since then he has worked in a combination of rural and urban areas, including the Wheatbelt, Great Southern, The South Pacific (Tonga) and remote Indigenous communities in Far North Queensland.

Prior to working at Coastal General Practice he worked as a GP in Albany and as a Senior Medical Officer with the Geriatrics and Rehabilitation ward at Albany Hospital.

Jon has an active interest in rock climbing and back-country snowboarding as well as running and the gym.

He has a special interest in travel medicine, non-pharmacological weight loss, exercise programs and medical education. He is a current UWA Rural Clinical School senior lecturer, as well as the Vice Chair of the GP training organisation in WA (WAGPET).

Dr Georgina Stevenson MBBS(Hons), FRACGP, FARGP, DCH, CertEM ACEM

Dr Georgina grew up in Perth and graduated from the University of Western Australia with honours.

She completed her General Practice specialty training with the RACGP in rural/remote WA and far north Queensland and gained her fellowship in 2017.

Georgie has done extra training in paediatrics (Diploma of Child Health), sexual health (FPAA Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health) and emergency medicine (ACEM Certificate, ACEM Diploma and Fellowship in Advanced Rural General Practice).

Georgie enjoys all aspects of general practice and has special interests in women’s health (including contraception, implanon insertion and medical terminations), sexual health (including STIs and HIV PREP), kid’s health, palliative care and renal medicine.

When not at work, Georgie loves spending time playing outside with her young  family, bike riding and pottering around in her garden.

Dr Kate Reid-Milligan MBBS (Hons), BSc (Hons), FRACGP, DCH, VGDWH

Dr Kate originally trained in Neuroscience and worked as a researcher for several years before completing her medical degree at the University of Western Australia.

She spent her initial postgraduate years acquiring experience whilst working in a range of disciplines at Fremantle, Rockingham and Princess Margaret Hospitals. During this time, Kate also completed a Diploma in Child Health and a Diploma in Women’s Health.

She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and also works as a Medical Educator at WAGPET, helping to mentor and educate the new generation of GPs training towards their fellowship in WA. Her special interests include women’s health, sexual health (including family planning counselling and Implanon® insertion), children’s and adolescent health. She is passionate about self care, promotion of wellness and disease prevention.

When she is not working, Kate enjoys spending time with her family and friends whilst making the most of beachside life.

Kate Coastal GP

Dr Rishta Uchila MBBS, FRACGP

Dr. Uchila is a WA trained General Practitioner and attained her fellowship in 2015. She also holds a Certificate in Women’s Health and Diploma in Skin Cancer Medicine.

During her training she worked in multiple hospitals across Perth, Broome and Collie. Following fellowship, she also worked as a General Practitioner in Sydney and Toronto, Canada.

She enjoys all aspects of family medicine from birth to old age. Her interests include women’s health, dermatology and skin cancer medicine.

Rishta Coastal GP

Dr Ashmita Adhikari MBBS, FRACGP, DCH

Dr Ash grew up in WA and graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2011. She spent several years working in Sydney and along the east coast before returning to her much loved Perth.

She completed her Diploma of Child Health in 2014 while working at Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney and attained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2016.

Dr Ash enjoys all aspects of General Practice, with a particular interest in Early Parenting and Baby Care, Child and Adolescent Health, Women’s Health and Chronic Disease.

Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, attempts to cook, and appreciates the odd (or even) ‘dad joke’.

Ashmita Coastal GP

Dr Rob Paul MBBS (Hons), FRACGP

Robert is a local graduate, graduating from the University of Western Australia with honours, and has been working as a general practitioner for the past 10 years, having worked in the Hills and Kingsley previously.

He loves the varied nature of general practice and has a special interest in weight management, men’s health, injury management (including occupational health) and chronic disease management (diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, kidney disease).

Robert is also committed to managing the health of his older patients and has been regularly visiting residential care facilities for a number of years.

When not working, Robert loves trivia and will commonly be seen attending (and sometimes even hosting) trivia nights, as well as supporting his Fremantle Dockers.

Dr Gemma Brown FPACGP, MBBS

Gemma grew up locally – she’s a proud Marmion Primary School alumni! Joining Coastal GP is a happy return “home”.

Gemma graduated in 2012 from the University of Western Australia with an MBBS.

Prior to embarking on her specialty Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Gemma gained broad experience working in a variety of hospitals including Fremantle Hospital, King Edward Memorial Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, Fiona Stanley Hospital and Broome Hospital.

Gemma enjoys GP because of the opportunity for collaborative care with patients.

When not at work her time is dominated by family, the outdoors (especially the beach), proper coffee, and her velcro vizsla (doggo!).

Dr Alice Webb MB BCH BAO LRCPSI, DipChild Health, FPAA Certificate in Sexual Health

Dr Alice is originally from Ireland, where she received her undergraduate medical degree. Having migrated to Australia in 2008, she gained her Fellowship of the Royal Association of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2014. She has also completed her Certificate in Sexual Health and currently works part time in a sexual health clinic.

She has a keen interest in Women’s Health, Sexual and Reproductive health, Menopause management, Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Mental Health and Chronic Disease. She enjoys working together with patients to enable them to achieve optimal health.

She loves to teach and has spent time as both a WAGPET and IMG supervisor. Alice also works at SHQ (Sexual Health Quarters).

When not at work, Alice loves spending time with her family, her dog and chickens. She also enjoys cooking, bushwalking, camping and spending time outdoors.

Alice Coastal GP North Beach

Dr Craig Cornwell 

Dr Cornwall is a General Practitioner who has been in practice in the local area of Trigg and North Beach for over 30 years.

After graduating from the University of Western Australia, he trained at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Hollywood Repatriation Hospital, St John of God Hospital Subiaco and Princess Margaret Hospital.

He has an interest in all aspects of General Practice. He is a Senior Lecturer at UWA, teaching clinical skills to medical students.

He participates in the Continuing Medical Education and Quality Assurance Program of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Craig Coastal GP

Dr Karen Wickham  MBBS, FRACGP, DCH

Dr Karen is a WA born and trained GP who graduated from UWA in 2009. She worked in Perth hospitals spending additional time training in paediatrics (Diploma of Child Health) and geriatric medicine, before moving to beautiful Margaret River where she completed her GP training in 2016.

Dr Karen has worked both in Perth and rural and remote Western Australia, mostly in the town of Meekatharra. Here she gained additional experience in chronic health care and acute hospital care, as well as being involved in GP training.

Dr Karen is interested in many aspects of medicine, which is part of the reason she became a GP! However, she particularly enjoys paediatric care and shared antenatal care, and she has also completed a Certificate in Medical Nutrition and has an interest in weight management.

In her spare time Dr Karen loves camping, especially along the coast or looking for gold.

Jeni Waddell
REGISTERED NURSE

Jeni has worked as a nurse for over 38 years. She initially trained at Princess Margaret Hospital where she developed an interest in paediatric health care.

After working in both metropolitan and rural hospitals across WA, Jeni began working in GP clinics, where she has been for the last 20 years.

Jeni finds GP nursing very rewarding because it enables her to make a difference in peoples’ day-to-day lives. The ability to actively participate in advocating for the best health outcomes for her patients is what keeps Jeni coming back year after year!

Nicole Higham
REGISTERED NURSE

Nicole spent 10 years working in aged-care before changing to general practice nursing.

During her time in aged-care, Nicole worked in various roles including management and education, and developed a passion for wound care and palliative care.

Nicole joined the team at Coastal GP in early 2022 and has really enjoyed the new experiences offered by working in general practice and also all the lovely patients!

Kathy Evans
REGISTERED NURSE

Kathy joined Coastal GP in April 2023 after having worked in acute hospital settings and management for over 40 years.

Kathy was looking to reconnect with patients, so she decided to try her hand at general practice nursing. It turns out that this was the sea change that Kathy was looking for!
